Melt in the Middle Oreo Truffles

These three ingredient Oreo truffles are a real crowd pleaser - and you don’t need to tell anyone else that they’re actually ridiculously easy to make! Once you have made these once I would recommend trying different flavours and combinations because believe me, it won’t be the last time you make them.

Ingredients

  • One pack of Oreos (original for a more chocolatey flavour but go wild and experiment with others if you wish!)

  • One tub of cream cheese (200g)

  • Milk Chocolate bar to coat (200g)

Method

Makes around 24

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, you may need several trays unless you want to make giant Oreo truffles! Mine are more bite-sized.

  2. Crush the Oreo biscuits into fine crumbs, use a blender if you have one, or simply pop the biscuits into a sandwich bag and smack away with a rolling pin. I personally believe this is far more enjoyable!

  3. Pour the Oreo crumbs into a bowl and mix in ¾ of the cream cheese and stir well. Once combined keep adding the cream cheese as needed until you have a play-doh like consistency.

  4. Using a teaspoon, spoon a little mixture into your hands, roll into a ball and place on the baking tray. Continue doing this until you have run out of the mixture, and put the tray in the fridge to firm up the balls for about half an hour. Letting them cool makes it a lot easier to coat in chocolate as the balls will be more firm.

  5. Whilst they are cooling in the fridge, put a small pot of water on to boil and chop up your chocolate bar into small squares. This allows it to cook more evenly. Put the chocolate into a glass or ceramic bowl that fits on top of the pan of water, without touching the bottom.

  6. Once the chocolate has melted get the balls out of the fridge and using a tooth pick dip them in the melted chocolate until they’re covered, and set onto the baking tray to harden.

  7. At this stage you can either eat them straight away, or decorate them and make them look pretty, which is my favourite part of baking really… As you can see in the photograph I decorated mine with some white chocolate; all I did was melt it and use a spoon to drizzle it over the set truffles. However, you can decorate them using anything you wish, crushed oreo pieces, popping candy, hundreds and thousands, whatever you fancy! You could also cover the truffles in dark or white chocolate if you’d prefer… just go mad!
