Naomi Rusher

I’m Naomi, I’m 41 and I live in East Bristol. By day I work as an Office Manager for a software engineering company in digital music, based in the city centre.

I spent my early 20’s at art college, then diverted to the Alps to work a couple of ski seasons, just for something completely different. Back in the UK I had various jobs in event management which I fit around a 2 year backpacking trip in my 30’s.

After all this I finally found a place where I’m happy to stay and am loving Bristol life, it’s so inspiring and fun. I love being creative, usually in a more abstract way (as there’s far more room for error!).

I was doing mixed-media collages until I stumbled across alcohol ink artworks online, which inspired me to try the techniques for myself. I’ve been slightly addicted to doing it ever since! It’s tricky as it makes a lot of mess but is SO fun and exciting to do. The ‘Bristol Inkologist’ was born!

Art and Words by Naomi Rusher

Hello! I’m Naomi from Bristol. I’m a full-time Office Manager for a software engineering company connected to digital music, it’s a busy and varied job and I get to listen to loads of tunes, which keeps me happy. By night I’m an art enthusiast / dance lover / Sci-fi addict / glitter aficionado! Early in 2019 I fell in love with working in alcohol inks, and have been teaching myself the techniques ever since. This medium is unbelievably satisfying, liberating, exciting and messy!
