Talking to: Foxgluvv

Foxgluvv is an unapologetically gay DIY pop artist from Birmingham, now based in Queen’s Park in north London, who has created the perfect score for your late night party with her signature ‘hungover-pop’ sound. Blending the lyrics and aesthetics of modern left-field pop music with her love of the 80s, Foxgluvv's music is packed with dreamy synths, lo-fi beats, camp and extravagance.

'Music Is A Tool'

Your room might become a jungle under the sound of Boozoo Bajou, or you might suddenly be on an empty train leading somewhere with beautiful views - just by closing your eyes.

The Superiority Complex of Music

I have been passionate about music for as long as I can remember; going to concerts with friends when I was in school, being forced to listen to Absolute Radio 80s in the car with my dad, dancing to 60s Northern soul music at The Lanes every Saturday when I was 18.

Review: Bristol Takeover 2020

The live music and clubbing scene is all a bit different nowadays in the times of coronavirus. We all have to stay at home, but the music industry is doing all that it can to keep music coming to us if we can’t go to it, whilst we listen together, albeit apart. Here in Bristol, the Colston Hall has long been the lynch pin of the live music scene, and yesterday on Saturday 23rd May they took their festival The Bristol Takeover online.

Review: Yung Lean Live @ the back of the truck

On Thursday the 2nd of April, Jonatan Leandoer Håstad (Yung Lean) emerged from the darkness at Stockholm’s Frihamnen harbour and beckoned the audience to follow him towards the back of a truck, parked up next to a Russian freight ship. Lean opened the door and revealed the interior, laden with burning candelabras, wall hangings, a dead tree decorated with dream catchers and various statues of animals.

Live Streams - How To Stay Sane in Lockdown

On Saturday night I was treated to a full set by The Comet is Coming, and if I had stayed up any longer could have spent the rest of the night streaming sets by Disclosure, Helena Hauff and dipped into DJ EZ doing a mammoth 24 hour DJ set. Sadly, red wine, crisps and desperation don’t stimulate me enough to stay up alone past midnight in this new world order.

Bladee: The Renaissance Man

Running alongside the meteoric rise of Swedish rap sensation Yung Lean, a parallel course has been quietly trodden by auto-tune crooner Bladee. Although not sporting the same level of commercial success as Yung Lean (Jonatan Leandoer Håstad), Bladee (Benjamin Reichwald) has been there from the beginning, his creative output traversing between the Sad Boys collective and his own group, Drain Gang (formerly Gravity Boys and Shield Gang).
