Foreign, aristocratic, multi-millionaires and billionaires owning UK media outlets is concerning, because of their large stakes in various global corporations, and potential for intimate connections with external power systems.

I wish every child could have the kind of experience we had at our primary school, when homework was an occasional intrusion on our evenings and SATs had not been invented. We were allowed to be children not just fodder for league tables.

The same cannot be said for former bank robber Gregory David Roberts (author of Shantaram) and Jordan Belfort, who became a celebrity because of his white-collar crimes, and arguably achieved superstar status after being portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.

Making eye contact in the rear-view mirror, questioning your whereabouts, and displaying physical vulnerability sitting corpse-like in the back of a car are all signs that should trigger alarm bells in a driver’s head.
